Tension in Tunganmaji as kidnappers attack Barrister David

There was Tension at Tunganmaji village a suburb of Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, following the attack on Barrister David Aigbefoh and his household suspected to be kidnappers at the early hours of Tuesday 6, April 2021 at exactly 1.30 am.

David Aigbefoh told journalist tha “early morning at about 1am he heard a loud noise at the gate and suddenly we realised that the kidnappers were with AK47 with chaind bullets round their body, the three of them went to the back of my bedroom and one who I suspected to be their leader was with gun.

“They broke about three doors starting from the gate before gaining access into the main house, I used a mtchet to attack the person with the gun and then I called a neighbour who is a DSP who called the vigilante and the police who respondeed to my call 30 minutes after.

“After about 10 minutes they reinforced and came back again shooting sporadically in the house with ballets at the doors, there were several bullets in the house, windows, wall and doors scattered all over with bullets.

The suspected attackers however escaped without any arrest, “Aigbefoh said.”

“These people are kidnappers and not thieves because they were fully armed and prepared to carry me away, and is not as if I have any matter with anybody and the only problem I think I have with anybody was the judgment I won last month.

“One of them said he was going to kill me and he called me several times on my phones that he was going to kill me but I wouldn’t know if he is the one.

“David however, called on the FCT Commissioner of police and Inspector General of Police to rejid the security apparatus in Tunganmaji to help save lives and prosperity in the area.

Police who visited the scene of the incident reviled that preliminary investigation has started.

On his part, Barrister Isah Abubakar Aliyu, Chairman Nigerian Bar Association, Gwagwalada branch, also said the spate of kidnapping was worrisome in Nigeria, adding that, every government has the responsibility of providing security to its citizens and called on the government to address the security situations in the country.
