The Presidential Contact and Mobilization Committee of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to Gombe State has declared the party free of any rancour or factionalization in the State.

Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Nuhu Bello, who was represented at the meeting by Ghali Sule, Director General of Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumable Supply Agency said, after an exhaustive meeting with all the party stakeholders in Gombe State, all conflicting issues were resolved while members are now on the same page.

Despite failing to make an impact in the 2023 general elections in spite of it’s popularity in the State, the party was engulfed in a major factional crisis leading to the recent departure of the State Governorship candidate in the 2023 general election, Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki, from the party.

But Ghali Sule said, since the departure from the party by Mailantarki, who was also the State party leader, peace had returned to the party.

He told our correspondent in an interview shortly after the recent meeting that this is not the first meeting to resolve the crisis. He explained however that shortly after the departure of Mailantarki from the party, an air of peace enveloped the party.

He said, “when we came earlier, it was a big challenge, but after the exit of the party flag bearer, things started falling in place. We now have a united party where NNPP and the Kwankwasiya movement are now in unison, working as a team”.

He explained further that, “the party at the national level under its leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso had set up the presidential committees for each of the 36 States and Abuja to assess the status of the party after the 2023 general elections”.

According to him, going by the name of the committee, it is not only for the Presidential ambition of Dr Kwankwaso, but all the elective post right from Counselors to the President.

“We’re hoping that Kwankwaso will fly the party’s flag in 2027 Presidential election. The committees will work wholistically not only for the Presidential candidate, but all other elections. We’re gearing efforts towards victory of NNPP in the country”, he emphasized.

While also speaking to our Correspondent, the excited NNPP Chairman in Gombe State, Rambi Ibrahim Ayala, admitted that the party had gone through some turbulence.

He said, “after the former party leader left the party, we began an Audi of the membership in the State. Look at our strength at the moment so as to launch ourselves towards the 2027 election which starts now.

“We’re happy with the fresh new idea of patriotism to the citizens of this country brought by our leader Senator Rabilu Musa Kwankwaso. We’re rebranding the party to make it more enviable and acceptable to all Nigerians.

“The party logo has been changed from fruits to a book and pen, signifying education as a means of emancipation. While the red colour stands for continuous struggle to emancipate Nigerians, the white stands for peace.

“You can see that even when the former party leader in the State leff, we remained unshakable. The party is still moving and hopeful that soonest, we will draw people into our fold. Take over Gombe State and Nigeria as a whole”, Rambi boasted.

The committee was presented with the existence of the whole party structure in the State from ward, the LGA, Zonal and State levels with prominent stakeholders comprising the new party leader, Hon Ismaila Mohammed Sa’in Dukku, the party’s Governorship running mate, Hon Hamma Tanimu Abubakar, and other candidates in the last election making contributions on the way forward for the success of the party.

The committee later went to Kwami LGA to launch a party office donated by Hon Adamu Mohammed.
