Hunger Protest: Bayero varsity suspends lectures

The Management of Bayero University, Kano has suspended lectures.

The suspension according to a statement by the school management is with immediate effect.

The statement by the Deputy Registrar, Public Affairs, Lamara Garba on behalf of the Acting Registrar, “After a careful review of the situation in Kano State as a result of the National Protest, the University Management has directed that all scheduled lectures should be suspended forthwith,” the statement said.

The Management of the University also commended members of the university community for their support and cooperation in maintaining a peaceful atmosphere across its campuses.

However, as soon as normalcy returns, all academic and administrative activities will resume fully.

It advised students residing on the campuses to continue to remain calm and law-abiding, as adequate arrangements have been put in place to ensure their safety.

“The Management, in particular, is concerned with the safety of lives and property and, therefore, enjoins the members of the University community to continue to be cautious about their movements outside the campuses to avoid exposure to any possible danger,’ the statement added.
