NFF unveil new Super Eagles boss, Finidi George

Super Eagles new Head Coach, Finidi George was on Monday unveiled by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in Abuja.

Finidi previously worked as an assistant to former handler of the team Jose Peseiro for 20 months.

 

The former Ajax and Real Betis winger also picked five assistants.

 

Sports Minister John Owan Enoh and President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Ibrahim Gusau and other top ddignitaries were present at the unveiling ceremony.

 

They are three foreign-based who will join Daniel Amokachi while Olatunji Baruwa will serve as goalkeeper trainer.

 

The former Enyimba gaffer led the Super Eagles as a caretaker coach for the friendlies against Black Stars of Ghana and Eagles of Mali in March.

 

His first game in charge of the three-time African champions will be against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in June.

 

The 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture will hold at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

 

The Super Eagles will also be up against Squirrels of Benin few days later.

 

The three-time African champions sit in third position in Group C with two points from two games.

 

Rwanda occupy top spot in the group with four points, while South Africa are second with three points.
