Rotus Oddiri a presenter of AriseTv has issued a public apology for his outburst in an heated argument with colleague Rufai Oseni on Friday.
The pair had an outburst on their Programme, Arise this morning, over the Naira and dollar challenge currently bedeviling the country.
Rufai was of the opinion that it was a wrong idea for the CBN to float the Naira while Rotus thought otherwise and that Rufai was misinforming the audience.
Rotus believes that the CBN doesn’t have the capacity to have a fixed rate of the dollar and that the borrowing to do this have shown the incapability of the country to withstand that.
Rotus looked very emotional in his argument as it was becoming heated. The other presenters had to wade in to calm things down.
In his post on X this morning, Rotus tendered an apology for his outbursts on live Tv.
“Apologies for my frustration this morning but misinformation cannot be allowed to be spread to Nigerians and our international audience on @ARISEtv ”
After the apology, he took out time to stand on his point that floating the Naira was the right thing to do.
“Nigeria has the capacity to defend a FIXED exchange rate?? HOW?”
“How can anyone say this in the face of REPEATED devaluations????”
“Did the @cenbank Financials for 2022 not show us the truth?”
“Did the BILLIONS IN USD we got from JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs not open our eyes?”
“Did the $3bn @nnpclimited borrowed from the @afreximbank just this month not make things clear??”
