Nigerians workets hit the major streets across the country Wednesday morning Protesting the harsh policy of the government.
Protest erupted in Lagos, Abia, Plateau, Kaduna, Kano, Rivers, Zamfara, Cross River, Ebonyi, Enugu, Kwara, Ogun, Imo, Ondo, and Edo in response to the call by Trade Union Congress.
Labour meeting with the Federal Government has not been fruitful.
In the city capital, Abuja, members of the Organised Labour gathered at the Unity Fountain to demonstrate their disapproval.
The protest is being led by officials of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) from the Federal Capital Territory.
They are joined by hundreds of union members, who have come prepared with their respective union paraphernalia.
NLC members protesting against the “anti-poor” policies of the President Bola Tinubu administration in Kano State.
Affiliated unions of the NLC and the TUC including the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), the National Union of Electricity Employees of Nigeria (NUEE), National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) also joined the nationwide protest.
Men of the security operatives were spotted at the Unity Fountain just as there are security operatives at the different venues of the protests across the states.
