No fewer than 11 flights have been deployed in the evacuation of Nigerians escaping the battle between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Respond Forces, RSF.

1,993 Nigerians in Sudan have been evacuated back home since last Wednesday when the operation commenced.

Nigerians were flown in from Aswan International Airport, Egypt and Port Sudan, Sudan.
The latest of the evacuation saw the arrival of 128 returnees at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja on Wednesday around 10:30 am. Another flight had come in late Tuesday night with 126 evacuees

The evacuation exercise started last Wednesday with the arrival of 376 evacuees through the Aswan airport, Egypt.

So far, infants, children, women, men, and students have been brought home since the war broke out in Sudan.

They were received on behalf of the Federal Government by the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mustapha Ahmed who was represented by the Director of Special Duties, Dr. Onimode Bandele.

Also present were representatives of other relevant agencies.
