The forthcoming general elections and the cash saw are expected to dominate discussions in today’s Council of State meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu is also expected to brief the meeting, which is presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The meeting commenced at about 10:12am.
There are few members of the Council in attendance in person while some others are participating via online.
Former Heads of State and Presidents in attendance are: Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd); Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd) and Goodluck Jonathan while former President, Olusegun Obasanjo joined online.
Others include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Senate President Ahmed Lawan
