A German based businessman, Ikechukwu Okafor has said that the police, the Department of State Security and the State government have details of those troubling the South East.
Okafor said he had in his petition to the Department of State Security, DSS, the Police and the State government listed names of those behind insecurity.
Okafor who is the Ichie of Akwuzu, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, also accused the traditional ruler of Akwuzu, of fueling insecurity and mayhem in the community.
The German based businessman, spoke to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, said he had personally reported to the relevant authorities about the atrocities of those bridging the peace in the state but the authorities seem to be handicapped.
He said if he was not sure, he would not have been mentioning names.
He is therefore appealing to all the government to compel the security agencies to investigate the suspects and prosecute those who may have been found wanting.
Okafor who alleged that he was framed and subsequently incarcerated by the DSS for five months in 2021 also urged the authorities of the DSS and the police in Abuja to do a thorough investigation of his allegations.
He said, “If I’m not sure what I’m saying, I wouldn’t mention people by name because it’s a very serious thing to do.
“So I went as far as supplying the DSS names of the people that were involved and I say go and verify and if you find me wanting hold me responsible. I gave them the names of the hotels where they stay.
“You know it is a very serious syndicate. Even people who are serving in government, the DSS are aware of it.”
