A 30year old man, identified as Ibrahim Bello on Tuesday, dragged his Sister, Hauwa Bello and other Family members before a Sharia Court of Appeal in Abuja over his share of inheritance.
Ibrahim who said he was only given N4,241,500 instead of N15 million as his share of inheritance.
He therefore pleaded with the court to help him recover the balance of 10,758,500 from members of his family.
Ibrahim told the court that his initial financial inheritance sums up to N15million but has been given only , which remains 10,758,500 for completion.
Ibrahim also noted that the money they shared is the gratuity money paid after his father’s death.
When asked by the presiding Judge, Garba Gambo, why he wasn’t given his inheritance when he was 27years at that time, Ibrahim noted that the family decided to ignore the Muslim way of sharing inheritance and share it equally, since their mother wasn’t involved in the sharing from the onset.
Hauwa who was confirmed sick by her mother, when asked about the case, said she believes “her Son needs help”.
The judge adjourned the hearing till 15th of November 2022.
He also asked that Hauwa be present at the next sitting.
