A yet-to-be identified middle aged man has been burnt to death in a fire outbreak that engulfed the Head Office of a Commercial Bank on Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island, Lagos on Tuesday, NewsSpecng learnt.
An unspecified number of persons were also reportedly injured.
The fire was said to have emanated from the premises of the bank while a repair work was being carried out on its generating set.
A vehicle belonging to the police attached to the bank was affected by the fire.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.
He said, “The fire started within the bank premises on Tuesday morning. Our vehicle got burnt but our officers were not affected.
“One person died and others were injured. The injured persons have been hospitalised.”
