Gunmen have kidnapped some students of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Talata Mafara local government area of Zamfara State.
This is croming less than two weeks after armed men broke into Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State.
The latest incident happened in the early hours of Friday.
A parent who resides at Kawaye village in Aknka Local Government Area of the state, was seen rushing to the school.
The parent who feared her two daughters may have been part of the victims told Journalists that she was told the school wad invaded around 1am by the gun men.
When contacted, SP Muhammad Shehu, Police Public Relations Officer in Zamfara, said he could not react.
“Give me some time, I can’t say anything now,” he said.
On Thursday, Governor Sani Bello of Niger alleged that the federal government had abandoned the state on the issue of the release of Kagara victims.
In an audio that went viral on social media, a man who spoke on behalf of the captors of Kagara victims, threatened that they might starve to death.
This is the first time in Nigeria that gunmen will stage large-scale abduction of students from different schools in less than two weeks.

The first major attack on a school by an armed gang happened in Borno State, where over 300 students of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, were abducted on April 14, 2014.
In May 2017 six children abducted from their school on the outskirts of the main city, Lagos.
The abductors freed four other children after “profiling” their parents, police said, apparently referring to the fact that they were not regarded as wealthy.
The men came through a swampy forest bordering the state-run Model College school, and cut a hole in the fence to enter, police said.
Four children were abducted from the same school in October 2016, and three from another school in Lagos in southern Nigeria in March this year. They were later freed.
In 2018, gunmen hit Government Girls’ Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, and abducted 119 students.
There was also an attack on a Catholic boys’ secondary boarding school Sacred Heart seminary, in Jalingo, Taraba on May 28th 2018. Though no student was abducted, a preist was however shot in the leg by the invading gunmen why another priest was beaten.
In December 2020, over 300 male students were abducted at Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State.
