Not every one is lucky to be blessed in their lifetime to see their children’s children.
But Kaka Saratu Mapak is more luckier as she has every reason to celebrate and be extremely grateful because not too many women are blessed to reach this age.
Kaka who recently celebrated her gracious 102 years birthday prayed that she lives longer, hale and hearty life.
She said, “I want to live as long as God can keep me. I remain grateful to God for keeping me hale and hearty up to this age as most of my friends have gone to be with the Lord.”
Kaka who still goes to farm frequently is described as a woman of unity, hardwork and one who greatly loves her children.
She makes sure the community remains united as unity is always her watchword. Even after the death of her husband Mapak Mahuel who died January, 2015 as a result of age long sickness, greatgrand mother still live according to the precepts of her husband.
Kaka who was into farming and tin mining ensured that all her children went to school.
As a dear lover of Christ, Kaka ensured her children became closer to God and ensured a big church was erected in the community.
One of her children, Jerry Mapak could not hide his joy as he said “My mother is one of the most hardworking and influential woman I’ve known. She taught us a lot of things, trained us in the fear of the lord. And even though she never had any formal education, she made it her priority to train all of us in school. My mother is a God fearing woman and is well known for her love for all children in her community.”
Lucky Mapak, her grandson acknowledged that Kaka is one of a kind.
“My grandma is an amazing woman, although she is 102 years old, she could still do many household chores and do the garden. She cooks many nutritious tasty meals for our family and plants many various colorful flowers in the form of raising her children in the fear of the Lord. She really loves her grandchildren. She is the most generous person that I’ve met. She’s always listening to the grandchildren and understands us. When we have difficulties, she gives us many piece of advice and helps us to overcome that. I really love her and she will be always on my mind”, he said.
