Buratai, Olonisakin get letter of credence

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Retired) has been presented with his letter  of credence.

Buratai is the Ambassador-Designate of Nigeria to the Republic of Benin.

The immediate past Chief of Defence staff, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin (Retired) was also presented with his letter of credence. Olanisakin is the country’s Ambassador-Designate to the Republic of Cameroon. 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama according to the ministry presented the Letters of Credence early this morning.  

The Minister of Foreign Affairs during the brief ceremony congratulated the immediate past service chiefs on their appointment by Mr. President and called on them to deploy their wealth of experience to promote Nigeria’s interest during their tour of duty in countries of accreditation.

President Muhammadu Buhari had nominated the four Service chiefs on 4th February 2021 and were confirmed by the senate on 23rd of February 2021 despite the public outcry against their nomination. 

The remaining two, Chief of Air staff, Ibok Ibias and former Chief of Naval Staff, Abubakar Sadique are still awaiting their posting.
