The National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) has expressed its willingness to partner with the FCT Chapter of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) to empower women for skill acquisition and vocational training.

The Director-General, NIHOTOUR, Alhaji Nura Sani Kangiwa said this when officials of FIDA, led by the Chairperson Mrs. Rekia Rachael Adejo-Andrew paid a courtesy visit at the institute in Abuja.

Kangiwa explained that empowering vulnerable women in the society with the requisite skills in vocational training is the only sure way to protect them against all forms of risks and to survive as independent individuals especially in travel tourism and hospitality trades.

The Director General who expressed his delight with the visit and the good work the Federation is doing to lift the poor, voiceless and vulnerable segment of women in the country, said Nigeria needs more of such enviable social and Non-Governmental Organizations to augment government’s efforts at providing better living conditions for the populace.

Earlier in her address, Mrs. Adejo-Andrew said they were at NIHOTOUR to congratulate the Director General over his appointment as well as to identify with his visionary leadership and philanthropic qualities that endeared him to many in the country, including FIDA so that the society can be a better place for all and in particular, the vulnerable and less privileged.
