Marking her third anniversary in the Senate, the lawmaker representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has distributed smart devices and laptop computers to secondary schools across her constituency to boost digital learning.
The distribution exercise took place on Monday, November 2, 2026, across select institutions, including OCSS Oboroke, Adavi Model Secondary School (Adavi Eba), and Community Secondary School (Obangede).
According to a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by her media aide, Mike Idoko, the intervention aims to bridge the digital divide and provide students with direct access to modern educational tools.
”Representation Must Touch Lives Directly”
Addressing students, teachers, and community leaders during the presentation, Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasized that public office must yield tangible benefits for constituents.
”For me, the essence of representation is not simply to occupy an office or make speeches in the chambers of the National Assembly. It is about making a difference in the lives of the people who entrusted us with their mandate,” she stated.
”These smart devices are not merely computers; they are instruments of opportunity, learning, innovation and empowerment. I want our children to understand that their geographical location should never limit their access to knowledge or their aspirations in life.”
She urged students to embrace digital literacy and charged school administrators to ensure the equipment is properly maintained and utilized for academic advancement.
Key Legislative & Constituency Milestones
Reflecting on her three-year tenure in the 10th National Assembly, the lawmaker highlighted several key developmental interventions across Kogi Central:
Healthcare Advocacy: Sponsored Senate Bill 521 to establish the Federal Medical Centre in Ihima, aiming to bring specialist medical care closer to local communities.
Infrastructure & Energy: Supported road rehabilitation, potable water access, school upgrades, and solar-powered community lighting.
Economic Empowerment: Driven targeted initiatives focusing on youth skills acquisition, agricultural support, and women empowerment.
