The Boki East Development Association (BEDA), Calabar Branch, has congratulated two of its illustrious sons on their recent elevations in public service.
In separate congratulatory messages, the association felicitated with Chief Obi Ayuk on his appointment as Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture in Cross River, and Deputy Commandant of Corps, DCC Gabriel Ikobi, of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on his promotion and deployment to Ebonyi Command.
In a statement signed on behalf of the executive and members of the association, BEDA described Ayuk’s appointment by the governor, Prince Bassey Otu, as well-deserved, noting that it was a testament to his proven track record, commitment to community development and passion for preservation of cultural heritage.
“As a people from Boki East, we are immensely proud of this elevation.
“We are confident that you will bring your wealth of experience, innovative spirit and people-oriented leadership to bear in repositioning Cross River as the tourism capital of Nigeria,” the association stated.
In another message signed by its President, Engr. Paul Njama, the association also congratulated DCC Gabriel Ikobi on his promotion from Assistant Commandant of Corps to Deputy Commandant of Corps.
The group said Ikobi’s elevation was a reflection of his discipline, dedication and selfless service to the nation, adding that it serves as an inspiration to youths of Boki East.
“We pray for greater wisdom, protection and success as you take on this higher responsibility,” BEDA added.
The association pledged its support and prayers for the duo as they assume their new responsibilities.
