The President, Cross Riverians In Diaspora, Amb. Christopher Lekan, has announced the appointment of CRID global board of trustees.
This follows the dissolution of the 2026 Electoral Committee, all Standing
Committees, Board of Trustees and regional leadership structures, including their secretaries who served between 2023 to 2026.
In a statement made available to Nigerian Chronicle, Lekan applauded the outgoing members for their invaluable contributions, maintaining that their legacy of service
will remain an important part of the history of the organisation and society at large.
He further announced the appointments of Dr Justin Udie as Chairperson and
Mrs. Austa-Mary Gabriel-Unah, as Secretary of CRID Global Board of Trustees:
Prof. Joseph Ekpang,
Dr Lambart Agama,
Prof Anthony Agbeh, and Mr. Felix Okosi Ubege, are to serve as members.
Others include Engr Patrick Archibong,
Prof Rose-Margaret Ekeng-Itua, Mr. Nsa Archibong,
Dr Solomon Ugabi,
Prof Valentine Ntui and Mrs. Ekanem Mboto.
Also appointed were the regional coordinators and secretaries to pilot the affairs of the organisation from 2026 to 2029.
Chief Jacob Oroks and Mr Fidelis Manghe are to serve as regional coordinator and secretary respectively for United States, while Bassey Edim and Chelsea Ubi, will oversee Asia.
Dr. Abraham Ayendi and Mr. Friday Adada will head Europe as coordinator and secretary respectively, even as Mrs Thelma Ogbeche and Lady Elizabeth Mayor will oversee United Kingdom.
For Canada, Barr Bassey Bassey and Mr. David Bebiem will serve as coordinator and secretary, while Dr Emmanuel Inah and Bassey Bassey Uka, will take charge of Africa as coordinator and secretary respectively.
He charged them to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and excellence.
