TAAG described the Guangzhou route as a major milestone in its efforts to build a stronger international network and establish itself as a key bridge between Africa and Asia.

The airline noted that the direct connection is expected to facilitate the movement of business travelers, tourists, investors, and cargo between the two regions while opening new opportunities for trade and economic cooperation.

Industry observers view the route as particularly significant given the volume of commercial activity between Angola and China, one of Angola’s largest economic partners. The direct service is expected to reduce travel times and improve convenience for passengers who previously relied on connecting flights through other international hubs.

Beyond commercial benefits, TAAG said the new route will serve as a platform for strengthening institutional, cultural, educational, and tourism exchanges between the two countries.

Officials believe easier air connectivity will encourage greater people-to-people interaction, increase tourism flows, and support growing business partnerships between Angolan and Chinese enterprises.

The airline emphasized that the launch aligns with broader efforts to deepen engagement between Africa and Asia at a time when economic cooperation between the regions continues to expand.

TAAG also highlighted the strategic role of the newly developed Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport in its long-term growth plans.

The airline said the Guangzhou route supports its vision of transforming the airport into a major regional and international aviation hub capable of connecting passengers and cargo traffic across Africa, Asia, Europe, and beyond.
