The FCT Customary Court, Dutse is still under lock and key two weeks after hoodlums attacked the premises, setting it ablaze.
The Customary Court which is located in Dutse, a sub-burb under Bwari Counicl of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was among the public properties that were destroyed in the wake of the violent attacks by hoodlums.
When NewsSpecng visited the Court on Monday, 2nd of November 2020, it was still in the state of its ruin.
No repair work has commenced and the gate to the court premises was under lock and key. The ruins were still obvious as carcas of the burnt down car stirs you in the face once you approach the Court.
The burnt down gate house and the shattered windows also speaks of the volume of damage that was perpetrated by the hoodlums.
It would be recalled that about two weeks ago, hoodlums burnt and damaged some parts of the Dutse Customary court, including vehicles and injured some staff of the court.
The hoodlums had hijacked the nationwide #EndSARS protest, looting and destroying both public and private properties.
Our correspondent who went round the FCT gathered that sitting was yet to resume in the Customary Courts, apart from the Headquarters in Wuse as a result of the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests.
As at the time of filing this report, the Dutse Customary Court was yet to undergo repairs after two weeks of the carnage.
At the Kubwa Customary court, there are skeletal services as some staff were found at their desk .
NewsSpecng visited the Court only to discover that sitting has not resumed. The Court has been covered by dust, from the entry point to the offices, there are no sign of any activities there.
One of the staff who volunteered to speak said they are waiting for directives from the Headquarters to commence sitting.
The staff who does not want to be mentioned in the press said until directives comes court sitting remains suspended.
