President’s Commitment towards public servant welfare landmark reforms & support Initiatives for Civil Servants.
Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Head of civil service of the federation, during the event held in Abuja on Friday, 24th April, emphasized on a Focus Collaboration & Future-Driven Civil Service,celebrating the contributions of Nigerian civil servants .
“Day after day, in offices across Nigeria, civil servants diligently fulfill their roles, holding the machinery of government together”.
“However, their efforts often go unnoticed, but today, we salute the invisible architects of our nation, the Nigerian civil servants” she said.
Mrs Didi, during the press briefing, stated that Nigerian civil servants deserve recognition and support for their dedication and service to the nation.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has prioritized the welfare of civil servants, moving from rhetoric to reality”.
The Federal Executive Council approved a landmark exit benefit scheme ensuring retiring civil servants receive 100% of their annual emoluments.
Implementation of the Employee Compensation Scheme to provide financial protection for civil servants in case of work-related incidents.
Approval of 100% duty tour allowance for training programs, showing the government’s investment in its workforce.
Comprehensive review and increase in peculiar allowance to improve take-home pay for civil servants across different grade levels.
Introduction of 10 billion Naira housing loan scheme is to facilitate home ownership for civil servants, promoting stability and purpose at work.
The head of the civil service of the federation, gave the importance of collaboration across government institutions for effective policy implementation and service delivery.
“As International Labor Day approaches which is on the 1st of May, the contributions of civil servants will be acknowledged and celebrated, emphasizing justice, fairness, and gratitude”.
“Civil servants are encouraged to participate in the upcoming International Civil Service Conference, showcasing the transformation underway in the public service” Mrs Didi.
The reforms and support initiatives is aimed to strengthen the civil service for a more efficient, transparent, and innovative Nigeria.
