Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has called for continued support of the people of the State as a guarantee for more people oriented programmes and projects.
He said already, not less than N50b has been expended in the provision of people oriented projects in Gona Emirate alone following the support and cooperation of the people.
The Governor stated this during the flagg-off ceremony of the Secretariat of Amada Local Council Development Area (LCDA) where he highlighted benefits of cooperating and supporting the administration.
Giving reasons for the creation of the thirteen (13) LCDA’s in the State, Governor Inuwa Yahaya said, there is a great need for the creation following the increase in population and the need to take Government nearer to the people particularly in the grassroots.
He charged the local administrations to focus on four key areas: strengthening security, basic education, primary health care and agriculture.
According to him, the Local Council Development Areas where created over twenty years ago but were short-lived and dissolved shortly thereafter. He gave assurance that the current LCDA’s will stand the test of time due to the concrete procedures followed in the creation.
He said, all legal procedures for the creation has been followed from the State House of Assembly to the National Assembly thus completing the first, second and third stages.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman, Akko Local Government Area, Alhaji Mohammed Danladi, praised the Governor for executing projects and programmes that have bearing on the lives of the people of the area.
He assured that the people are ready to support the State administration for the development of the area and also promised that they will support whoever the Governor adopts as aspirants in all elective positions in the area.
The Governor continued his tour of flagging off and inspection of projects in all the remaining two Emirates in Akko LGA, Pindiga and Kumo Emirates.
