The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu (SAN), has extended warm Sallah greetings to the business community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and beyond, commending their resilience amid ongoing economic challenges while calling for sustained government support to strengthen the operating environment.
In a statement issued on Thursday to mark the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, the ACCI President congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan, describing the holy month as a period defined by sacrifice, discipline, and spiritual renewal.
He noted that the virtues demonstrated during the fasting period—patience, integrity, and perseverance—are not only essential to personal growth but also critical ingredients for building sustainable and thriving businesses.
Obegolu praised the tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit of businesses across the FCT and its environs, particularly in navigating economic headwinds. According to him, the private sector has continued to play a pivotal role in driving economic growth, creating jobs, and contributing to national development despite prevailing constraints.
“As we celebrate this season, it is important to recognize the remarkable resilience of our business community. Their ability to adapt, innovate, and persevere under challenging conditions is commendable,” he said.
The ACCI President, who also leads the Organised Private Sector (OPS) in the FCT, urged entrepreneurs and business leaders to remain steadfast and forward-looking.
He emphasized the importance of unity, collaboration, and adherence to ethical standards, noting that collective effort is crucial to overcoming current challenges and unlocking new economic opportunities.
While acknowledging ongoing efforts by government at various levels to support businesses, Obegolu stressed the need for more consistent and targeted interventions.
He called for policies that enhance the ease of doing business, improve access to finance, strengthen infrastructure, and ensure a stable and predictable economic environment.
He argued that such measures are necessary to enable enterprises to scale operations, boost productivity, and contribute more effectively to national prosperity.
“As we celebrate Sallah, let us renew our commitment to peace, progress, and prosperity. With the right support and a shared vision, we can build a more vibrant and resilient economy,” he added.
On behalf of the ACCI Executive Committee and Council, the President wished members of the Chamber and the broader business community a peaceful, joyful, and prosperous Eid celebration.
