A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) party in Gombe State and former Special Adviser/Chairman on Project Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation in the Government of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Prof Namala A Keftin has resigned his membership of the ruling party.
The resignation letter, effective 9th March, 2026 and addressed to his Kalmai ward chairman of the party in Billiri LGA, was made available to our Correspondent in Gombe by the prof himself.
He thanked Governor Inuwa Yahaya for the opportunity of serving the State and the party which enabled him to be part of the team that effectively delivered on the party’s initial mandate.
According to him, “the purposeful leadership qualities of the Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for whom I personally joined and endeared in the party since 2014 is commended, especially in supporting the party to effectively deliver on its initial mandate that we shared together”, he emphasized.
He equally commended the patience and excellent leadership qualities of the immediate past State Chairman of the APC, Mr Nitte Amangal, saying, “it is acknowledged and appreciated as well”.
Prof Keftin, who gave reasons for leaving the party as personal and noble, also thanked the ward party executives for the the good working relationship they built together over the past 12 years, which he described as a time he spent “defending the ideals of the party”.
Though the letter was silent about his next political destination, it is however clear that with political realignments taking place all over the country in the build up to the 2027 general elections, Prof (Bldr) Namala A Keftin is also gearing towards the election with his own political agenda.
End.
