Dr. Kayode Egbetokun has been removed from his position as Inspector-General of Police (IGP), NewsSpecng learnt.
Report has it that President Bola Tinubu ordered Egbetokun’s removal from office.
He is most likely to be succeeded by Tunji Disu, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos.
Egbetokun was at the (Presidential) Villa on Monday, where the president told him to go and prepare his handover notes.
A source alleged that the President asked him to step aside amid mounting controversies and health concerns.
Though no official confirmation as at the time of filing this report.
