Delta State Government has banned Valentine Parties Celebration in all Secondary school, Public and Private in the state.
In a memo signed by the commissioner for secondary education Dr Kingsley Ashibogwu ,JP dated February 11 2026, with reference no:DSME/SCH4/GM4S/186, the state government frowned at the practice , adding that it doesn’t celebrate academic excellence.
The memo addressed to all Chief Inspectors of Education ( Public and Private ) as well to all Secondary school Heads ,Public and Private direct that Valentine Parties should not be observed in the state. ( See the memo attached)
