The chief Executive Officer/Director General of Cross River Microfinance and Entrepreneurship Development Agency, Great Ogban, says the new tax law will end multiplicity of tax that hitherto affect Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the country.
Ogban stated this at a tax reform town Hall meeting organised by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), in partnership with the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) and the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, in Abuja recently.
To this end, the DG noted that it was imperative to demystify the new fiscal policies while focusing on clarity through open dialogue in order to correct the belief of the citizenry as regards the new tax law.
Ogban further informed that, “this pivotal event serves as a bridge between policymakers and the public, focusing on the recently introduced tax laws and the ripple effects on the Nigerian economy.”
Giving vent to the importance of aligning regional development with national fiscal goals, Ogban affirmed that the event would
ensure that the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu reaches every corner of the federation.
The event which had in attendance prominent figures leading Nigeria’s economic transition, including Executive Chairman of NRS; Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms; Taiwo Oyedele and Director-General/CEO of SMEDAN, Charles Odii among others, argued that the delegation will be visiting various regions across the country to engage with local business owners, entrepreneurs, and civil society groups.
