NDLEA Arraigns Congolese Man For Trafficking In Hard Drugs

A 45 year-old citizen of Democratic Republic of Congo, Jeancy Mubenga Mukeba, has been arraigned before a Federal High Court, Lagos, for trafficking in prohibited drugs.
The Congolese was arraigned before the court presided over by Justice Musa Kakaki, on a three counts charge leveled against him by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Mukeba, according to the prosecutor, Mrs. Jillian Imaobong Iroaduchi, was arrested by the NDLEA operatives on November 22, 2025, with 10.80 Kilogrames of Pentazocine Injection, at the NAHCO Export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Ikeja, Lagos
He was alleged to have conspired with the duo of one Ekene and one Mama Samuel BIBI, who lives In Democratic Republic of Congo, to commit the illegal acts.
The prosecutor further told the court that the act of the convict contravened sections 11 (d), 20, (a), (c) 11 (b) and 14(b), and of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act Cap N 30 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The Congolese admitted committing the illicit, acts and pleaded guilty to all the three counts charge.
Based on the guilty plea of the convict, the prosecutor asked for a short date to enable her review the facts of the matter.
Upon the request for adjournment by the prosecutor, the defendant lawyer, Barrister Anthony Nnamoko, pleaded with the court to remand his client at the NDLEA custody pending the adjourned date for the review of facts by the prosecutor.
Consequently, Justice Kakaki adjourned the matter to February 4, for review of facts and sentence of the defendant. While also ordered that the defendant be remanded at the NDLEA custody till the adjourned date.
Charges against the Congolese read: “that you Jeancy Mubenga Mukeba, Male, Adult, 45 years old of No. 13, Chapel Suite Lagos Island, Apongbon, Lagos, a citizen of Democratic Republic of Congo, on or about the 22nd day of November, 2025, at the NAHCO Export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Ikeja, Lagos which is a Custom Area, within the Jurisdiction of this Honourable Court and without lawful, authority knowingly possessed 10.80 kilogrammes of Pentazocine Injection, a Narcotic Drug, similar to cocaine, heroin and LSD which you knowingly concealed same inside Brown cartons and you thereby committed an offence contrary to, and punishable under Section 11 (d), 20, (a), (c) of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act Cap N 30 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

“That you Jeancy Mubenga Mukeba, Male, Adult 45 years old of No. 13, Chapel Suite Lagos Island, Apongbon, Lagos, a citizen of Democratic Republic of Congo, and one Ekene Male, Adult, your hard drug business partner (now at large) and one Mama Samuel BIBI, Female, Adult, who lives in Democratic Republic of Congo, and (Now at large) on or about 22nd day of November, 2025, at the NAHCO Export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, which is a Custom Area, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, without lawful authority exported 10.80 kilogrammes of PENTAZOCINE INJECTION, a Narcotic Drug, similar to cocaine, Heroin and LSD, which you knowingly concealed same inside Brown cartons and you thereby committed an offence contrary to, and punishable under Section 11 (b), of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act, Cap N 30 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

That you Jeancy Mubenga Mukeba, Male, Adult 45 years old of No. 13, Chapel Suite Lagos, Island Apongbon, Lagos, a citizen of Democratic Republic of Congo and one Ekene Male, Adult, your hard drug business partner (Now at large) and one Mama Samuel BIBI, female, Adult, who lives In Democratic Republic of Congo (Now at Large) on or about the 22th day of November, 2025, at the NAHCO Export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, which is Custom Area, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, and without lawful authority, did conspired among yourselves, to export 10.80 kilogramms of PENTAZOCINE INJECTION, a Narcotic drug, similar to cocaine, Heroin and LSD, which you knowingly concealed same inside Brown Cartons, and you thereby committed an offence contrary to, and punishable under Section 14(b), of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act Cap N 30 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
