In his bid to reposition sporting activities while injecting new lease of life into the sector, Cross River governor, Prince Bassey Otu, Monday, announced the composition of a-five man team, to pilot the affairs.

A statement by the Secretary to Government of the State, Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh, intimated that the appointment of members into the Cross River Sports Commission takes immediate effect.

According to the statement, Etta Lawrence Itanya will serve as the Chairman, while Queen Gladys Festus, Hon. Njarani Gabriel Ushie, Sunny Ndep Ebam, and Ekpenyong Effiom Okon, will perform as members.

Otu disclosed that the new team is expected to fix sports, support young talents, and help Cross River return to its former glory in athletics and other competitions.

He reasoned that, with the new team in place, more young people will garner opportunities even as the state regain its pride as sports champion.
