The IIaje host communities for the proposed 500,000 bpd Refinery and Free Trade Zone are to be provided with modern social amenities including schools, hospitals and potable waters among other things, the Nation learnt.
The partners: Backbone Infrastructure Limited (BINL), NEFEX Petro Line Limited and Cooldeall Limited and the Ondo State Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA), assured the host community of their commitment in ensuring they get the benefits due to them.
Already, Backbone Infrastructure Limited (BINL), has secured $50 billion funding for the Ondo State project.
The partners have set up the Sunshine Joint venture Infrastructure Limited as the platform to drive the project.
“The JV team and ONDIPA restate commitment not just for the successful execution of the projects but giving the stakeholders full benefits by providing modern social amenities including Hospitals, Schools, potable water and settlement centers with all social amenities.
“The team is on course with the objectives of these projects and will follow through in all the design plans and roadmaps for success,” according to a statement by the Vice President (Corporate Services) – Barrister Wale Adekola.
He also disclosed that the team has visited the site and engaged with stakeholders.
The team which arrived in the country on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to the Ondo State Governor, lucky Aiyedatiwa and His Royal Majesty (HRM), the Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom, Oba Frederick Obateru Akinruntan.
The team led by the Chairman of BINL, HE. Senator Ken Nnamani (former Senate President) including other Board members and the Executive management team led by Henry Owonka made a courtesy call on the Executive Governor of the State, Mr. Luck Aiyedatiwa.
The Governor appreciated the JV for making Ondo State the destination of choice for its investment, noting that the investment will drive industrial growth of Ondo and Nigeria as a whole while assuring them of a conducive environment that will ensure a thriving business and mutually beneficial relationship amongst all stakeholders.
The meeting with the host communities led by the Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom, Oba Obateru Akinrutan explored the roadmap towards commencement of the projects, including presentations with ONDIPA and visits to the project sites and engagement .
The traditional ruler warmly welcomed the team especially the foreign partners which include the team lead Messrs Egbal, JM and Maryam among others. “He assured the JV team and the Ondo State Government of the total support of the Kingdom and all stakeholders including the security of lives and property of all the groups and individuals that will be involved in these projects for the benefits of all.”
