CP BAKORI HOSTS KEY STAKEHOLDERS, HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION, AND MEDIA ENGAGEMENTS*

The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis, today, 23rd October 2025, received three distinguished delegations at the Command Headquarters in furtherance of the Command’s commitment to collaboration, security enhancement, and public enlightenment.

*1. Courtesy Visit by Chairperson of the Sub-Security Committee, Kano State Chamber of Commerce*
The Chairperson of the Sub-Security Committee, Kano State Chamber of Commerce, Hajia Aisha Sulaiman Baffa, led a delegation to the Command ahead of the upcoming Kano State Trade Fair. In her remarks, Hajia Aisha highlighted that the trade fair is the second most attended event in the state, after the Sallah festivities, and solicited security support to ensure seamless activities during the event.

_”We pay this visit to intimate you on our upcoming event and seek support and collaboration to ensure a smooth and secure trade fair,”_ she said.

In response, CP Bakori expressed the Command’s readiness to provide comprehensive security support, emphasizing that security is a collective responsibility. _”We will engage with you professionally, offer the necessary advice, and ensure your event is adequately secured,”_ the CP assured.

2. The Special Adviser to the Executive Secretary, Head of Monitoring Department and also the National Coordinator of NHRC/UNCHR, National Human Rights Commission, Dr. Benedict Agu, alongside the Kano State Coordinator, National Human Rights Commission, Mr Shehu Abdullahi also paid a courtesy visit to the CP, accompanied by his team. The visit aimed to strengthen the existing relationship between the Commission and the Police Command, particularly in areas of training and collaborative activities focused on human rights promotion.

Dr. Agu expressed the Commission’s desire to deepen the partnership, noting the importance of joint efforts in protecting and promoting human rights. In his response, CP Bakori reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to upholding human rights, stating, _”The protection and promotion of human rights remain a core responsibility of the Police. We will continue to cooperate fully with the Commission to achieve this goal.”_

3. Later in the evening, CP Bakori hosted the Station Manager and representatives of Dala Radio FM, 88.5 Kano, for a media interaction. The discussion focused on the security situation in Kano State, with an emphasis on public enlightenment and sensitization on security-related matters. CP Bakori reiterated the importance of media collaboration in educating the public on security awareness and fostering community-police relations.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, thanked all the delegations for their visits and expressed the Command’s commitment to sustained collaboration with all stakeholders. He emphasized that partnerships with organizations such as the Kano State Chamber of Commerce, the National Human Rights Commission, and media outlets like Dala FM are critical to ensuring peace, security, and public awareness in Kano State.

The Command remains dedicated to its mission of safeguarding lives and property, preventing crime, and maintaining public order while fostering trust and cooperation with all stakeholders.
