Dr. Christopher Kolade, a renowned broadcaster and former Nigeria High Commissioner to United Kingdom is dead.
Erin-Oke, Osun State, born diplomat died on 8th Wednesday October 2025 at the age of 92, according to a statement by his family.
The family announced the elder statesman’s death in a statement on Thursday.
The statement said the late former Chairman of Cadbury Nigeria died peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
“We are thankful for his incredible life of faith and service, and are grateful for God’s abundant blessings,” the statement read in part.
Kolade had a distinguished career as a diplomat, academic, advocate for integrity and corporate governance, among other things.
Kolade began his career in broadcasting, eventually rising to the position of Director General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation.

 

 

 

He later served as the Chief Executive and Chairman of Cadbury Nigeria Plc and held the esteemed position of Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
On return to the country, the late elderstateman taught Corporate Governance and Human Resources Management at Lagos Business School (LBS) and Leadership & Conflict Management at the School of Media & Communication (SMC), both institutions affiliated with Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos.
He also held significant roles within the university’s governance structure, including Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council.
Dr Kolade also held other positions of service both national and international organizations, where he led institutions such as The Nigerian Institute of Management, The Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, The International Institute for Communications, and The World Association for Christian Communication.
He also served as Chairman of the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme Board in 2012 under President Goodluck Jonathan.
