The Coordinator of Feeding All Nations Through Jesus Christ (FANTJC) has expressed the ministry’s delight at bringing smiles and joy to some orphans and widows in Gombe State through it’s feeding programme.
Gombe State Coordinator of Feeding All Nations Through Jesus Christ, a foreign based philanthropic organisation, Adejimoh Bolanle Elizabeth, said the organisation had been involved in reaching out to orphans and widows with food and other intervention so as to drive away the feeling of neglect within them.
During one of the organisation’s monthly ‘prayer walk’, with Destiny Kids Orphanage, Federal Low-cost Gombe, Mrs. Bolanle, a lecturer with the Federal College of Education (Technical) Gombe, said the monthly ‘prayer walk’, which is in its second year, offered the organisation an opportunity to reach out to the orphans and widows.
She said, “we basically work with orphanages by praying with them, give them the opportunity to see what is going on in their communities, show them the love of Jesus as well as praying with them.
“We also involve them in praying for the land, the State and decree good things to come to the land we are in”, she explained.
She explained further that the ministry is involved in the intervention in fulfilment of the scriptures which gives the mandates that the poor, the orphans, helpless and the needy in the community should be catered for.
“For the past three years, things have been quite difficult in Nigeria but with our consistent visits and interventions in terms of food and others, it has been a source of encouragement and support to them.
“Every month, they are looking forward to our coming, they say God has been using us in terms of providing for their needs. So, we have always been there for them and we enjoy doing it”, Mrs Bolanle revealed.
She called on other well meaning individuals and organisations to also come to the aid of the vulnerable in the society considering the economic hardship faced by the people.
The activities that day featured, exaltation around the theme “Soaring High On Wings like Eagles” Isaiah 40:31, after the prayer walk in some streets within the Federal Low-cost community.
Others activities were: Praise and worship, legal presentation, medical presentations, refreshments and ice breakers, as well as question and answer session.
