The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all regions of the country benefit equitably from national development initiatives.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, also affirmed that no part of Nigeria will be sidelined in the drive toward economic growth and improved living standards.
The Minister, according to a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Rabiu Ibrahim made the pledge on Thursday during a courtesy visit to the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, as part of a two-day Citizens’ Engagement Series and Federal Government Projects Tour in the South East.
Idris, who led a federal delegation to inspect and showcase development projects in the region, said the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is focused on delivering visible and tangible results across all six geopolitical zones.
“The Tinubu administration is committed to ensuring that no region is left behind in Nigeria’s development drive,” the Minister stated.
“What we are seeing in Enugu modern roads, upgraded schools, improved public facilities is proof that the President’s policies are translating into real benefits for the people.”
The Minister praised Enugu’s infrastructure upgrades and social development initiatives, noting that they align with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises economic diversification, infrastructure expansion, human capital development, and social inclusion.
Governor Peter Mbah, while receiving the delegation, commended the Federal Government’s efforts to work closely with states in the South East to address infrastructure deficits and stimulate economic activities. He also pledged continued partnership with the Tinubu administration to attract investment and foster inclusive growth.
The Citizens’ Engagement Series is a nationwide initiative of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation designed to strengthen government–citizen relations, promote transparency, and provide first-hand updates on federal projects.
The Enugu engagement featured interactive sessions with stakeholders, community leaders, youth groups, and the media.
According to the Ministry, the South East projects tour will cover key infrastructure developments, including road rehabilitations, educational upgrades, healthcare improvements, and ongoing federal investments in energy and water supply.
The Minister stressed that the administration’s ultimate goal is to ensure that the benefits of governance and economic reforms are felt equally by Nigerians in every region, regardless of political affiliation or geography.
“Development is only meaningful when it is inclusive,” Idris said. “President Tinubu has made it clear that every Nigerian, whether in the North, South, East, or West, must feel the impact of government policies and programmes.”
