The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has announced a strategic partnership with the African Cultural Festival (ACF2025) to host the African Diaspora Summit.
The summit is scheduled for September 19–21, 2025, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA.
The high profile event, according to a statement signed by Mr. Gabriel Odu, Media and Protocol unit, NIDCOM is supported by the Government of Pennsylvania and the Dauphin County Commissioners.
The event Odu stated will bring together global leaders, creatives, entrepreneurs, and policymakers under the theme “Africa to the World: Culture, Creativity, and Collaboration.”
Odu quoted NiDCOM CEO, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, describing the upcoming summit as a vital platform to tap into the expertise of the African diaspora, promote youth and women empowerment, and position Africa’s creative economy as a catalyst for innovation, investment, and stronger international partnerships.
She said: “The three-day festival will feature a wide range of activities, including cultural showcases, youth leadership forums, business networking opportunities, and exhibitions celebrating African creativity across fashion, art, music, film, technology, and cuisine.
“NiDCOM will lead Nigeria’s participation by spotlighting the nation’s vibrant creative industries and forging strategic partnerships that align with Nigeria’s broader economic and cultural development goals.”
The African Cultural Festival was officially launched on March 26, 2025, at the Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg. This year’s edition will highlight nine “Duduplugs” fashion, music, art, tech, film, dance, literature, food, and home showcasing Africa’s rich cultural diversity to an international audience.
Hon. Dabiri-Erewa emphasized that the summit would not only celebrate African heritage but also serve as a launchpad for cross-border collaborations in trade, investment, and innovation, ensuring that Africa’s creative and entrepreneurial spirit resonates across the globe.
