A popular political figure and 2027 governorship hopeful in Gombe State, Engineer Aliyu Mohammed, has withdrawn his decision to contest in the 2027 guber elections.
Aliyu Mohammed, also called ‘Kombat’, who is known for his dedication to humanitarian work through his foundation, Velocity Humanitarian Foundation, cited personal commitments and responsibilities as the reason behind his withdrawal.
In a press statement shared to Journalists, the politician said he arrived at the decision after due consultations with his political associates, friends and mentors.
He acknowledged the disappointment his decision might cause his lovers and support groups, but emphasised the need to focus on other equally important engagements.
According to him, “At this point in my journey, I am committed to several equally important engagements and responsibilities that require my complete focus and personal attention.
“Your confidence and trust mean more than words can express”, he stated while appealing to his supporters for calm.
The politician reassured his supporters that his decision would not affect his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) or the Velocity Humanitarian Foundation, which he promised would continue to deliver its mission of providing interventions and empowerment to the vulnerable.
