The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Nigerian-born global education leader, Gbemi Disu, on her recent appointment as Senior Vice President, Global Partner Development at WorldQuant University (WQU).

In a statement issued by Mr. Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Director, Media, Publicity and Protocol unit Dabiri-Erewa described Disu’s appointment as “another shining testament to the excellence and influence of Nigerians making strides in global institutions.”

She noted that Disu’s new role holds strategic significance, aligning with NiDCOM’s mission to leverage the expertise of Nigerians abroad for national and international development.

“Her multi-dimensional experience and global footprint position her to champion scalable and inclusive knowledge exchange.

“This is especially crucial as Nigeria and other African nations strive to build talent pipelines in data science, technology, and other quantitative fields.

She further praised Disu’s robust professional background, which spans higher education, financial services, and energy across North America, Asia, Africa, and Europe.

The NiDCOM boss encouraged Nigerian scholars, institutions, and development partners to explore collaborative opportunities with WQU through Disu’s office as the university expands its global reach.

He said: “Gbemi Disu’s elevation is a proud moment for her, her family, and indeed the entire Nigerian Diaspora.

“We look forward to partnering with her and WorldQuant University to create more opportunities for Nigerians to learn, innovate, and lead on the world stage.”
