A Non-Governmental Organisation, NGO, SieDi-Hub is calling on local and international organisations to partner it for the upliftment of women and youths in the area of skills acquisition, health care and strategies.
This, the NGO said, is aimed at tackling the menace of social issues.
The Executive Director, SieDi-Hub Chinasa Imo made the call at the formal launch of 2022-2025 mid term report in Abuja, and also the setting of goals for 2025-2030.
Imo said that SieDi-Hub is seeking a long term investment partnership with local and international organisations all over the world.
She explained that, “There are proposed evidence based solutions, which includes social issues, rural development, youth actions and new strategies. These include, responsive budgeting, tax incentives for inclusive employment, school infrastructure expansion, vocational training, mental health support, and grievance redress mechanisms”.
Imo added that in a context where over 40% of Nigerians live in poverty due to social unrest, up to 75% of women living in eastern Nigeria face domestic violence, these briefs offer timely, actionable alternatives, advocating for inclusive governance and economic growth.
“With support from Spaces for Change and the Ford Foundation, individual donations, SieDi-Hub’s Online Safety Education Program has strengthened digital literacy and cyber resilience across communities and organizations, it has also Strengthened Civil Society on Policy Engagement and Advocacy.
“Through the Empower of Abia initiative, we have built the advocacy capacity of 30- CSOs, equipping them with skills in policy communication using tools like PowerPoint and social media, legislative engagement, research-based storytelling, and strategic coalition-building, positioning them to influence policy and drive change at the state level”.
Speaking, the governing board Chairman, John Oladejo explained that the next phase is the 2025-2030 SieDi-Hub programme which will deepen community health needs assessments by developing a centralized repository portal to document and share findings, guiding evidence based decision-making, and attracting targeted support to under served communities.
For the digital safety education program, the plan is to expand the Digital Safety Project to at least 30 secondary schools in Abia State and develop a best practice implementation kit to support national expansion in partnership with peer organizations, then gradually extend to other parts of the country.
