President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will personally receive the remains of the late former President, Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina today, NewsSpecng learnt.
Bearing any last minute change of programmes, the remains of the late former President is expected to arrive in Daura, his hometown by noon.
Buhari who died in a London Clinic on Sunday is expected to be buried today, Tuesday 15 July 2025.
The Vice President, Kashim Shettima is already in London to conclude documentation and logistical arrangements for the repatriation of the former President’s remains.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris said “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will personally receive the remains of the former President in Katsina. The remains will thereafter proceed to Daura, where the Jana’iza (funeral prayer) will take place, followed by interment at the late President’s residence.”
