Nigerians have taken to the social media to criticize the President directives that Vice President Shettima go to London to bring back the remains of Late President Muhammadu Buhari.
Calling such uncalled for as any person that is dead abroad is always returned as cargo.
One of such is
Chidi Anselm Odinkalu a Nigerian human rights activist, lawyer, professor, writer and former chairman of Nigeria’s National Human Rights Commission who in his confirmed twitter handle wrote “Nigeria’s current rulers may need to be reminded: Those who die in foreign hospitals only get to return to the country as cargo. They don’t pass thro @immigrationng. Rather we clear them thro @CustomsNG as import. If u don’t want this, build a hospital that can work for u'”
Another twitter identify as SupremeClerk while reposting the twit wrote ‘perfectly said.
Nigerian leaders must understand: When you shun your own healthcare system, you return home as a body bag — cleared by Customs, not Immigration.
If you want dignity in death, build a hospital that can save you while alive. Enough of this disgrace. #FixNigeria”
