…Pledges to Restore Club’s Lost Glory
Super Eagles forward and newly appointed General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club, Captain Ahmed Musa, has made a bold entrance into his new role by gifting brand new Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs to all players and officials of the club.
Musa, who was officially confirmed as the club’s General Manager by the Kano State Government last Saturday, resumed duties this week amid fanfare and high expectations. The 31-year-old football star, who also featured as a player for Kano Pillars in the last Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, said the gesture was part of his commitment to improving the welfare of the team and boosting morale ahead of the new campaign.
While presenting the luxury vehicles, Musa reiterated his mission to restore the club’s lost glory and return Kano Pillars to the pinnacle of Nigerian football.
“Kano Pillars is not just a football club; it’s a symbol of pride for the people of Kano. I’m here to work with everyone—players, coaches, fans—to bring back the glory days,” Musa said during the handover ceremony.
Musa’s appointment marks a new chapter for the four-time NPFL champions, who have struggled to reclaim their dominance in recent years. His leadership is expected to bring both financial backing and national attention to the club, given his pedigree and influence in Nigerian football.
The generous gesture has been widely applauded by fans and stakeholders, many describing it as unprecedented in Nigerian club football.
“Congratulations and God bless you GM and Captain Ahmed Musa,” read one of the banners at the club’s training ground on Tuesday.
Kano Pillars are expected to begin their pre-season activities next week, with renewed hope and energy under Musa’s stewardship.
