Oshimili South Chairman Empowers Youth with 23 Apple MacBooks for Design Africa Digital Skills Initiative

Oshimili South, Delta State — In a landmark move to foster youth empowerment and digital transformation, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Area, Dr. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili, has presented 23 Apple MacBook laptops to selected youth beneficiaries of the Design Africa 50 Youth Free Digital Empowerment Program.

This forward-thinking initiative, championed by Amb. Jerry Fuludu Oghenekaro, Creative Director of Design Africa and Founder of the program, is set to run from July 4th to December 4th, 2025, offering a 5-month intensive training on high-demand digital skills.

The comprehensive training program will equip participants with core competencies in:

Web Development – covering blogs, portfolios, and e-commerce platforms

3D Animation & Motion Graphics – for commercials and creative visual storytelling

Video Editing – using industry-standard Final Cut Pro X

Graphic & Magazine Design

Photo Editing Techniques

E-Marketing & Digital Advertising Strategies

Advanced AI Programming – with a focus on color grading for film and media

Drone Flying & Aerial Photography

Movie Production Design & Directing

During the official presentation ceremony, Dr. Ezenyili urged the youth to embrace the opportunity with discipline and commitment. He emphasized that the digital economy holds vast prospects and that this training would serve as a life-changing launchpad into creative industries and remote digital jobs.

“This initiative is about the future. It is about equipping our young people with tools and skills that matter. I am proud to be the first Local Government Chairman in Delta State—and possibly in Nigeria—to empower youths with Apple laptops for digital training. It is a sign of my administration’s commitment to growth, innovation, and youth development,” Dr. Ezenyili stated.

Amb. Jerry Fuludu Oghenekaro commended the Chairman’s visionary leadership and unwavering support, noting that such gestures are vital to bridging the digital divide and opening new doors for youth across Delta State.

Design Africa’s 50 Youth Free Digital Empowerment Program is poised to transform Oshimili South into a digital hub for talent, creativity, and innovation—aligning with the broader goals of sustainable development, job creation, and youth inclusion in the digital economy.
