…CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE INAUGURATION OF CAMPAIGN COUNCILS AHEAD OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS
Niger State Governor,
Mohammed Umaru Bago has called on the ruling All Progressives Congress APC in the State to immediately inaugurate campaign councils at the State, Local and Ward levels for the upcoming Local Government Council elections in the State.
The farmer Governor stated this when he hosted all the APC Flag bearers from the 25 Local Government Areas of the State to a special Dinner held at the Banquet Hall, Government House Minna.
Gov. Bago while appreciatinh the State APC for the rigorous exercise it took to finally agree with the aspirants for the local government council elections slated for November this year, said the formation of campaign councils in all the 274 Wards of the State is to rigorously prepare ahead for the election.
He congratulated all the flag bearers for their emergence as the Party’s representatives saying it is a privilege that they should not take for granted.
The Governor also called on them to reach out to aggrieved members of the Party in order to maintain the strength of the Party and stressed that, the party has set up mechanism through its Constitution for resolution of disputes and urged members not to derail from the processes on peaceful resolution.
He expressed optimism that the party will claim all the Councillorship positions at the November elections stating that rigorous campaigns will be carried out through the nooks and crannies of the State even as he used the medium to appreciate President Bola Tinubu for his contributions towards the development of the Party and State in general.
The State APC Chairman, Aminu Musa Bobi represented by the APC Secretary, Dr. Adamu Gani in his remarks said due processes were followed in the selection of all the Local Government Party flag bearers in ensuring that the best were chosen to represent the Party.
The Chairman , Association of Local Governments ALGON Niger State, Zakari Ilyasu described the event as historical saying, the task of selecting flag bearers from the 25 Local Government Areas was not an easy one and reaffirmed the commitment of every APC stakeholder in the State to keep supporting the farmer Governor whom he described as a father figure while also calling for sustained strategies during electioneering campaigns.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on political matters, Nma Kolo said the Dinner is to familiarize with one another and strategize on how best to ensure that APC party comes out victorious at the forthcoming council elections.
