CAC UNVEILS A NEW HI-TECH REGISTRATION PORTAL FOR PILOTING AI- DRIVEN ACTIVITIES

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced the take off of a pilot a new Artificial Intelligence AI-powered registration portal.

A major game changer for doing business in Nigeria is part of CAC’s transformative initiatives signaling a complete overhaul of the Company Registration Portal (CRP).

The Registrar-General/CEO of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN stated this today in Port Harcourt at the 2025 Stakeholders Forum.

Ishaq Magaji further stated that Name reservation was now poised to be as easy as opening an email account where instant approvals were granted for available names.

According to him, the system was intelligently built to suggest alternatives for selection and immediate approval.

Another special feature introduced is to allow business registration with only NIN of a director or proprietor, he added.

Magaji said CAC’s target time for business registration was now under 30 minutes to generate certificate and deliver to the customers email isubject to real-time NIN verification.

The CAC while acknowledging possibilities of some occasional delays due to external validation from NIMC, however maintained that a contingency solution was developed using AI-powered photo ID matching to surmount the anticipated challenge.

While speaking on partnership with super agents such as the Nigerian Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS), the Registrar-General said the CAC was studying over 100 requests Super Agents both within and outside the country.

On upcoming services, Magaji said a
Two-Factor Authentication & OTP Verification for all transactions will soon be unveiled to ensure that no changes are made to any company record without the full knowledge and consent of the registered directors.

He also revealed that a CAC Mobile App was also on its way by the last quarter of this year to ensure seamless transactions and tracking on the go.

In a bid to maintain quality service delivery and implement some vital reforms, the Registrar-General said the Commission was compelled to review upward certain service fees, effective 1st August 2025.

CAC Weekly reports that the Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association Port Harcourt Branch, Cordelia U. Eke, Chairman Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSAN), Sir Sebastian Essien and Chairman, Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME), Elder Dogala Sakpege gave goodwill messages at the event.

Other speakers include, Director Industry of the Rivers State Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Mechi Brown and the representative of the Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants,Port Harcourt branch, Miema Akpa.

During the interactive forum, a technical team from the CAC was on hand to resolve customers complaints and challenges.
