Cross River governor, Prince Bassey Otu, has felicitated with the newly appointed Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture, Ayo Sotinrin.
Otu who spoke through a high powered delegation led by the Director General of the State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA), Great Ogban, described Sotinrin as a round peg in a round hole, considering his resume.
The governor explained that the appointee’s extensive background in agribusiness, finance, infrastructure development and public service, singles him out as exceptionally qualified to pilot the affairs of the institution at this critical time.
He used the opportunity to strengthen relationship between the Cross River government and the financial institution, on the renewal of matching funds for agro-allied businesses in the state.

The Cross River delegation also explored enhanced agricultural project financing across crucial agricultural value chains, aimed at significantly boosting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) development in the sector and state.
“This engagement signifies a renewed commitment to unlocking the agricultural potential of Cross River while fostering economic empowerment and ensuring food security,” Otu disclosed.
Responding, Sotinrin expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement from the Cross River delegation, assuring of a robust and strengthened partnership.
The new MD affirmed the Bank’s readiness to remain committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda, especially on food security and sustainable MSME development within the agricultural sector.
