The African social impact summit on Sustainable Development will be held on July 10th to 11th 2025, the CEO, Sterling One Foundation OLAPEJU IBEKWE said.
The event which is scheduled for the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos, Nigeria has as theme: “Scaling action (bold solutions for climate resilience and policy innovation).
Speaking at the press briefing in Abuja the CEO of Sterling One Foundation Olapeju Ibekwe said the Africa Social Impact Summit is an execution platform. It is not just an event”.
She said, over the last few years they have made a remarkable impact. “our partnership raise has grown by over 500% since we started,we started with about 300 delegates. Today, as of last year, we welcome over 2,500 in-person delegates.
“Over 40% of our delegates are C-level executives in the private sector and leaders across the public sector. And we have a rich mix of different sectors represented at this convening.
“ last year’s convening, TGI Group signing an MOU with UNHCR on a five-year partnership to support the livelihoods of displaced persons.
“Also Katina State signing a partnership with the UNHCR for the universal health care, digitisation of their health care record system,2024.
“2023, MTA Foundation signed a partnership with the private sector health alliance of Nigeria to renovate and upgrade 52 primary health care centres across the country.”
She also stressed that Over 3 billion Naira was invested in this partnership. Plateau State executed a nationwide hackathon with Quality Education and Economic Association.
“these organisations met at the last convening. And these are just a few highlights we’ve got for this house, just for us to understand that this is definitely not just a talk show. Also, Katina State signed a partnership with Rema Bank to train 500,000 youth after the last convening. We had Startups Innovations get $200,000 in grants. Beyond this, there are quite a number of other highlights that I’ll just mention to you. One of our partners, Google Capital,” She added.
She also revealed that beyond the partnership to raise funds for all the 36 states, “This year, we are looking to scale action. This year is the new year of the human decade of action. She concluded.
