University of Jos Alumni Association (UJAA) has expressed sadness over the passing of Prof. Bonaventure Nkup Haruna.
UJAA in a condolence letter by its global President, Gad Peter described the death of the lecturer as a great loss.
Peter stated that Professor Haruna was a distinguished academic, a passionate educator, and a devoted member of the university family, whose remarkable contributions to students have left an indelible mark on the institution.
The letter reads in part: “It is with deep sorrow that I write on behalf of the University of Jos Alumni Association (UJAA) to express our heartfelt condolences on the passing of our beloved teacher, mentor, and scholar, Professor Bonaventure Nkup Haruna. His departure is a profound loss to the entire University of Jos community, and we mourn with heavy hearts.
“Professor Haruna was a distinguished academic, a passionate educator, and a devoted member of our university family. His remarkable contributions to the intellectual and moral development of countless students have left an indelible mark on our institution. His legacy will endure through the lives he shaped, the knowledge he shared, and the values he stood for.
“On behalf of UJAA, we extend our deepest sympathies to the Haruna family, the University of Jos community, ASUU UniJos, and the global UJAA family. We hope that the memories of Prof. Haruna’s impactful life, unwavering love, and notable achievements bring you strength and comfort during this difficult time.
“We celebrate a life well lived, a life dedicated to academic excellence, to the pursuit of knowledge, and to the growth of our university. Professor Haruna’s integrity, humility, and commitment will always be remembered and cherished.”
