The office of the National Population Commission (NPC) in Gombe State, has attributed the success of the Electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (E-CRVS) awareness campaign across the State to the support of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

The Federal Commissioner of the NPC in charge of Gombe State, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed Danburam, made the commendation in a press statement sent to our Correspondent in Gombe.

Alhaji Danburam explained that the awareness campaign which recorded a resounding success, was part of a broader effort to modernise registration systems across the state.

According to him, “The initiative aims to ensure that all children are registered at birth and that deaths are promptly recorded, thereby providing citizens with the necessary legal documentation and enabling more effective public service delivery.”

He noted that Governor Inuwa Yahaya had shown remarkable support for the e-crvs initiative adding that the Governor’s backing enabled the commission to embark on the extensive advocacy tour across the 11 Local Government Areas and Emirates of State.

“During the tour, officials and community leaders held interactive sessions to explain how proper registration of births and deaths not only secures individual rights but also provides critical data for planning and development”, he pointed out.

The Federal Commissioner also commended the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu-Abubakar (III), for showing enthusiasm by embracing the registration initiative.

Alhaji Danburan explained that the Emir stressed that comprehensive birth and death registration remains vital for effectively monitoring the state’s population.

“The Emir pledged continuous support to the NPC and urged the people of Gombe State to take census and registration matters seriously, noting that these measures are foundational to sustainable development”, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed Danburam quoted the Emir.

End.
