Niger Delta youth on Saturday issued a 48 hours ultimatum to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom to apologise to the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF for alleging that their visit to the Presidential Villa on Tuesday was for money.
The group’s National Youth Leader, Donben Donyegha, who issued the ultimatum at a Press briefing said the Minister’s comment about the leadership of PANDEF was regrettable.
He said the youth are not happy with the actions of the FCT minister and therefore demand an immediate retraction and apology.
Donyegha also called on President Bola Tinubu to remove Wike, who he claimed is becoming a liability to the administration, and a threat to his 2027 ambition, especially in South South.
He said: “We demand an immediate retraction and apology from those who have disrespected this generation.
“ We insist that within 48 hours, he must issue a public apology.
“Our leaders recently visited the President to promote peace in the region, particularly between the Governor of Rivers State, who is doing commendable work, and the FCT Minister.
“However, instead of supporting this effort, the FCT Minister disparaged our elders, falsely claiming they were seeking financial gain.
“The delegation that visited the President included paramount rulers, former governors, senators, and distinguished personalities. For him to dismiss them as mere opportunists is a gross insult.
“Such an act of disrespect will not be tolerated. As Niger Delta youths, we will not tolerate this insult on our leaders.
“If he fails to apologize within 48 hours, we will take necessary actions. The Niger Delta and the South-South region stand united against his recklessness.
“His behavior is a disgrace to the President’s administration, and we call for his immediate removal as FCT Minister.
“His presence in the administration is a liability, and his continued role threatens President Tinubu’s political future in 2027.”
