It’s a negative propaganda… APC

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State has faulted Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s inability to attribute the Federal Government as the source of the Ramadan palliatives recently distributed in the State.

The PDP accused the APC Government in Gombe of taking credit from the Federal Government’s gesture even when other State Governor’s openly acknowledged the Federal Government’s generosity, also as the source of the palliatives.

In a press statement issued by the Gombe State Chapter of the PDP through it’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Abdulkadir Ahmad Dukku, it said it’s observations were born out of genuine concern on the failure of the Gombe State Government in acknowledging the FGN’s generosity and commendable efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“In contrast to the silence from Gombe State Governor, other State Governor’s have publicly praised the FGN for its initiative, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in supporting vulnerable communities.

“This lack of acknowledgment raises urgent questions about transparency and commitment to the welfare of our citizens and reflects a pattern of using FGN support for political purposes while overlooking the essential assistance necessary for the well-being of our communities”, the PDP decried.

Last year, the Governor publicly criticized the FGN’ allocation of 20 trucks of rice intended to address food scarcity but the PDP said, “Unfortunately, this dismissive attitude continues with the current distribution of Ramadan palliatives, where the Governor has not recognized the FGN’s contributions in any of his speeches or press releases, including during the inauguration of the distribution committee.

“As an opposition party, we believe it is crucial for the Governor to acknowledge the contributions of the FGN and the North-East Development Commission in their efforts to support our state.

“Recognizing these contributions fosters unity and ensures that assistance reaches every corner of Gombe rather than being allocated based on political considerations”, Abdulkadir Ahmad Dukku stated.

But reacting to the allegations, the Publicity Secretary of the APC in Gombe State, Moses Kyari Bolda, swept away the allegation as a ”negative propaganda” loaded with mischief and half truths intended to cause dissafection against the APC Government of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

Moses Kyari, who denied existence of the Federal Government Ramadan Palliatives programme, explained that what was done by the Government was to continue in its avowed commitment towards enhancing the welfare of the citizens of Gombe State by embarking on another round of sharing palliatives for the sixteenth (16) time at the Ramadan period.

“The Governor gave the committee under the Chairmanship of the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, marching order to empty the States’ food reserve so as to reach a larger number of citizens.

“The committee was compromised of eminent personalities that cut across Government, CSO’s, religious bodies and members of the organized people with disabilities, which was non partisan but inclusive”, Moses pointed out, asking if the PDP was expecting it’s members to be incorporated into the committee before it becomes inclusive.

Moses however commended the PDP for acknowledging the efforts of the APC Federal Government in giving out palliative and the admission that it was distributed stressing, “It tells you that it was not hoarded but given out to those in need which shows the humanity of the Government of the APC in Gombe State”.

He called on the people of Gombe State to keep faith with the APC Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya as they work assiduously for the betterment of Nigerians.

End.
